Socked In

I bailed a little early on Btown and drove up to Sheboygan, racing the snowstorm that hammered most of the country north of the IN/KY state line. I made it just in time, as 48 feet of snow dropped on wisconsin all at once. I took residence in the basement and put in some long hours on the trainer, coming up for Packer games and dinner now and then.
A quick walk in the woods to survey the mountains of snow...

I am suffering from some cabin fever from being "socked in" by sub zero temps and snow measured not in inches, but feet. After 48 hours indoors and 2 trainer sessions both lasting 3 hours (a personal record) I cracked! I went outside and created the "poop-shoot". The dog is too small to do its business in the deep snow, so I crafted a series of tunnels for it. part maze, part excersize path, all awesome. Think Jack Nickleson in the Shining.

Its a little blurry... but this thermometer reads -11 degrees farenheit, thats some serious business.
After 3 weeks of forcing the work on the bike I am starting a well earned rest week. Plenty of off days, and some cross training on skiis should keep the motivation high. We leave for Tucson in only a week or so now, but its not burdensome waiting, as long as its this cold the snow stays beautiful and s a nice change to the slushy mess I am used to in Indianapolis!

I hear it was icy today in Indy. We're like you in WI - uncharacteristically cold & snowy here in PacNW... airports are finally getting stranded folks on their way...

Merry Christmas.
